At the beginning of the month, Phil Lembo (a very serious LDAP guy) posted a review of my book on the ELDAPO blog. The review was overwhelmingly positive.
The Mastering OpenLDAP book has been a little bittersweet for me. I was very proud of the book, and I tried very hard during the development of it to make sure that it was a clear, accurate, and well-structured explanation of OpenLDAP. I did more research for that one book than I had for the previous two books combined, and the writing took nearly a year (which, given my proclivity to spit out prose, is a long time).
The reception from the OpenLDAP developers themselves has been tepid... well, cold, actually. For a while, I was feeling like I'd pretty much failed in the task I had set for myself. Phil's review has been very encouraging, though.
